Simple product re-sourcing

The dwindling quantity of U.K. foundries, and the continued rate of their demise, has placed many smaller casting users in the position of having to re-source, often more than once. This is a costly and time consuming exercise that results in wasted resource and unanticipated expense. Often the prospect of re-sourcing outside of the U.K. is considered both daunting and unjustified due to purchase quantities. That is where D&P comes in!

We are often able to:

Purchase new patterns at a fraction of the cost of U.K. pattern makers, thereby making the justification process much simpler and leaving existing patterns for "infill" buying.

Organise machining and coating of components to exacting standards on the latest "state of the art" equipment.

Manage the supply process through to delivery into the U.K. in any one of the many containers already delivered here.

Guarantee the level of quality by only sourcing from ISO 2000 approved suppliers.

Procure, and hold on your behalf, sufficient stock to fulfil your annual needs, thereby optimising the size of the run and the unit cost.

Deliver, at cost, on a JIT basis to your works anywhere in the U.K.

It makes sense, so please give us a try!

Re-Design to reduce weight/cost

Prior to venturing into sourcing castings from China with existing, often old, products, it may well be worthwhile investigating the design of individual components with a view to reducing the overall weight of an item. This can be carried out in-house at D&P and may well result in a more efficient, less costly product to source.

Conversion of costly fabrications to lost wax, (investment) castings

Experience has proven that this service offers huge cost savings on small to medium sized stainless steel components. The tooling costs applicable to this type of product sourced in the U.K. are often prohibitive for all but the largest of of batch runs. This is certainly not the case from certain areas of China and often the tooling cost for annual quantities of just a few hundred can be amortised over the first years production and still show a major cost reduction.

The process involves reviewing existing fabricated product with the client, in order to determine applicable loads etc, before re-designing the item as a cast unit. Lost Wax castings offer superior appearance as well as performance and the resulting product often adds to the overall look of a finished product.

New Product Design

If you don't have the design facility in-house why not give us a try for any new cast product. We are able, in-house, to cover the production of 3D models and drawings for your specific needs. Once approved we can follow through with source and supply as previously described.
